Dunkin’ Donuts or Krispy Kreme? 7 new Dunkin’ locations headed to Raleigh, Durham
Krispy Kreme might be the homegrown staple, but Dunkin’ Donuts is crowding in with seven new stores planned for Raleigh and Durham.
Dunkin’ Donuts announced Tuesday that it signed a multi-store development agreement for seven new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Raleigh-Durham market with existing franchisee Coastal Franchising Inc.
The first of the new locations is expected to open next year. The locations are still being scouted though, so addresses of the new restaurants aren’t available yet.
Coastal Franchising already owns 39 Dunkin’ Donuts locations in the Carolinas, including four Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants and one Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins restaurant in the Triangle. With the expansion, the franchise group will more than double its Triangle footprint.
“We are excited to continue developing the Dunkin’ Donuts brand in the Raleigh-Durham area,” said George Ross, chief executive officer of Coastal Franchising. “As we expand throughout Raleigh-Durham over the next several years, we hope to attract new customers, as well as longtime fans of the brand, and show them the premium products and quality service we have to offer.”
There are already more than 90 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Triangle and more than 200 across North Carolina.
