Global financial firm adds 250 jobs in Wake County

A global financial services, technology, data and analytics company will hire 250 workers by expanding its operations in Raleigh, state officials announced Tuesday.

Ipreo U.S., a New York-based firm with an office in downtown Raleigh, will receive $2 million in financial incentives over 12 years, based on the amount of tax revenue generated by the new jobs, if it hits employment and investment targets.

The company says it will invest $2.1 million on the expansion, which is expected to grow the state's economy by $549 million.

Average salary for the new employees will be $66,720. The current average salary in Wake County is $56,244. The hires are expected to be made over the next four years.

Ipreo already has a large presence in downtown Raleigh with more than 320 employees working in the 17-story One City Plaza near the south end of Fayetteville Street.

The company moved into the highrise in 2013, and in the following year doubled the space it occupied. In 2014, Ipreo was acquired by a private equity firm, Blackstone, and the merchant banking arm of Goldman Sachs.

Ipreo says the number of its employees in the U.S. has doubled since 2013, and one-third of that workforce is in North Carolina.

The expansion will allow the company to focus on financial software, capital markets intelligence and real-time data and analysis products.

Roy Cooper's office. “This region offers a talented and innovative workforce, a strong university system, and a collaborative business environment. We are pleased to be an active and engaged member of this community and are committed to continued growth here.”

Highwood Properties owns One City Plaza, which is one of the Triangle's biggest office buildings.
