Cary police are searching for a man who they describe as “armed and dangerous” accused of sexually assaulting and robbing an elderly woman at a senior living home in Cary on Saturday.
Antwain Lamar Dennis, 35, is facing charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree forcible rape and first-degree kidnapping.
Cary Police responded to a call on Saturday around 12:28 a.m. for a woman who had allegedly been assaulted in her room at the Woodland Terrace, a senior apartment community in Cary.
Dennis allegedly entered the victim’s apartment unit through the front door and told her he was carrying a pistol, according to Capt. Randall Rhyne of the Cary Police Department.
Police secured the scene and searched the area with K9 units, but were unsuccessful in finding the suspect.
Dennis is described as standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds and often wearing a camouflage jacket.
Police have obtained arrest warrants for Dennis and were continuing to look for him Sunday afternoon. If Dennis is seen, police are advise not to approach him, but to call 911.
