Harnett County high school evacuated in response to a bomb threat
Students at Triton High School in Harnett County were evacuated Thursday morning because of a bomb threat, according to Harnett County Schools.
Students were evacuated to Gentry Primary after the high school received a bomb threat Thursday morning, said Myesha McClean, a spokesperson for Harnett County Schools.
Parents may pick up their children at Gentry Primary, and information about bus transportation will be sent at a later time, McClean said in a statement.
"At this moment, students will not be allowed to go back on campus to retrieve personal vehicles," she said.
The incident is being investigated. McClean did not specify how the threat was communicated nor who made it.
ABC 11 reported a heavy police presence at the school.
