Raleigh police ask for help to find missing man whose car was found crashed in SC
Police are asking for the public's help to find a 61-year-old man who has been missing since Sunday night.
Martin Bankhead was last seen at his home in the 9100 block of Palm Bay Circle in northwest Raleigh about 9:45 p.m. Sunday, police said. Authorities found his crashed, abandoned car in Catawba, S.C., on Monday.
Bankhead is about 6-foot-2, weighs about 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a purple polo shirt, light khaki pants and brown shoes.
Bankhead's neighbors in the Brier Creek community told ABC11, The News & Observer's media partner, that they know Bankhead well. One said the community is praying for his wife.
"We know that God knows where Martin is and he is keeping an eye out. And she really wants prayers. And if everyone can do that, that would be wonderful," Pat Zimmerman told the television station. .
Anyone who thinks he or she might have seen Bankhead or know his whereabout are asked to call 911.
