Girl, 16, and man, 18, held on murder charges in fatal Durham drive-by

A 16-year-old girl and a 21-year-old man were arrested on murder charges Tuesday in the July 10 killing of Andre Bond, and police said they are looking for a second man who has been charged.

Investigators found the girl, Uniece Fennell, and Joseph Kendell Jr. in the 600 block of Green Street, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.

Still being sought was Demonte Christopher, 18, Michael said. Police asked the public to help detectives find him.

Bond was found dead in the 200 block of Woodview Drive after police were sent to a report of shots being fired.

Investigators said at the time that it appeared to be a drive-by attack that targeted Bond.

Tuesday, they said Fennell, Kendell, Christopher and Bond knew one another. They did not disclose what they believed led to the killing.

Police were asking anyone with information about where they could find Christopher to contact Investigator A. Massie at 919-560-4440 or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
