Michael Jordan will be back at UNC this weekend, but he won’t be on the court.
He’ll be on the field as an honorary captain for the Tar Heels in their football game against Louisville on Saturday, according to official team announcements on social media on Monday.
Never miss a local story.
Jordan was last at his alma mater to introduce a partnership between the Jordan Brand and Tar Heel football on March 4 in the Dean E. Smith Center, about a month before the basketball team went on to win the 2017 NCAA Championship.
The university will honor that championship team on Saturday with a ring ceremony at halftime.
The Tar Heels will play Louisville at noon Saturday in Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill. The game will be aired on ESPN.
