Leesville Road’s Nevada Mareno and Hillside’s Marcus Krah, each with three state titles en route to N.C. High School Athletic Association MVP honors this year, headline The News & Observer’s All-Metro track and field teams.

Fourteen athletes were named to each team, the same number as there are events.

The boys combined for 13 titles and the girls compiled 12.

This year’s team posted five new state records: Krah with a new NCHSAA mark in the 110 hurdles, Mareno in the 800 and 1,600, Middle Creek’s Terrell Adams in the shot put and Northwood’s Tessa Sheets with a new 3A pole vault mark.
