A resort chain and apparel retailer are collaborating on a new coffee shop, set to open its first-ever location in Raleigh.

Omni Hotels & Resorts is partnering with Peter Millar on the Peter Millar Coffee Shop, to be housed inside the forthcoming Omni Raleigh Hotel. It’s currently under construction in downtown Raleigh near the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts, formerly known as Memorial Auditorium.

The coffee shop will serve a custom medium-dark roast blend from Black & White Coffee Roasters, which has a roasting facility in Raleigh, delivering “balanced notes of mixed berries and chocolate.”

Peter Millar Coffee Shop is expected to open in late 2028.

In addition to the coffee shop, Omni and Peter Millar, which was founded in Raleigh, are collaborating on new, custom-branded suites at two Omni locations — Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, and Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa in Frisco, Texas.

The suites will include many pieces and design elements nodding to Peter Millar, such as cashmere blankets inspired by the retailer’s early sweater designs, but they’ll also have the special Peter Millar coffee blend from Black & White.

“We’re very excited to partner with Omni, which we saw as a natural fit from the beginning based on our shared values and aesthetics. It’s a great opportunity to express our brand vision beyond our normal scope, and to further our impact in our home city of Raleigh,” Paul Nugent, Chief Marketing Officer at Peter Millar, said in a news release.

The 27-story Omni Raleigh Hotel will include a sports bar, steakhouse, two ballrooms, wellness center and pool deck, in addition to the Peter Millar Coffee Shop.

It will be the first Omni hotel in the Triangle and the third in North Carolina, joining Asheville’s Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa and the Omni Charlotte Hotel.

The hotel is one of a few new developments underway in the southern edge of downtown Raleigh.

A new Red Hat Amphitheater will be built one block away from its current location. The move will allow for a nearly 300,000-square-foot expansion of the Raleigh Convention Center, encompassing more flexible event space and meeting rooms.

This story has been adjusted with an updated timeline for Peter Millar Coffee Shop’s Raleigh opening.
