What is Furniture World?
Furniture World is on the first level of Crabtree mall, near Macy’s. The store said its Raleigh showroom “features a curated selection of furniture and mattresses displayed in room settings so you can see how pieces look together.”
“We’re a family-owned furniture store offering a wide selection of living room, bedroom, dining room, home office, outdoor furniture, and mattresses,” the store wrote on its website.
The News & Observer noted social media posts and signs at the mall but didn’t see a specific closing date listed. As of Memorial Day weekend, the store was promoting closing-related discounts for shoppers.
“This is not a test… The store is actually closing,” Furniture World Raleigh wrote Friday, May 22 in a Facebook post.
Furniture World also has locations in Burlington and Greensboro as well as in Norfolk, Virginia. The store didn’t immediately share additional information with The News & Observer on Tuesday, May 26.
The N&O also has reached out to Crabtree to learn what could replace Furniture World and is awaiting a response.
