A clothing store left Crabtree Valley Mall — and is moving to another Raleigh shopping center.

Premium Stitches in an Instagram post said its last day at Crabtree was Saturday, May 23. The storefront was on the first level of the popular mall, near Macy’s.

Now, fans of Premium Stitches will have to drive roughly 10 miles northeast to Triangle Town Center. Here’s what we know about the move and other recent changes at the two malls.

What is Premium Stitches?

Premium Stitches sells clothing, shoes and accessories, photos show. On social media, the store didn’t share a reason for the move or reveal when the relocated store will welcome customers.

“New location @triangletowncenter will be posted soon, so stay updated,” the store wrote May 18 on Instagram.

Premium Stitches and Triangle Town Center didn’t immediately respond to requests for additional information on Tuesday, May 26. The News & Observer also asked Crabtree what will replace the store and is waiting to hear back.

Other changes at local malls

The move of Premium Stitches isn’t the only change shoppers will notice at Raleigh malls.

A wave of recent openings and closings has hit Crabtree, located at 4325 Glenwood Ave. This month, Furniture World said it would leave the mall, and Urban Planet by Charlotte Russe planned to set up shop in a former Toys ‘R’ Us space.

Meanwhile, Premium Stitches could bring new life to Triangle Town Center, located at 5959 Triangle Town Blvd.

Earlier this year, anchor stores Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue said they would shut down, The N&O previously reported.
