The ‘Showgram’ replacement for Bob Dumas is now on the air at G105
Nearly six months after Bob Dumas departed the G105 Showgram, his successor is on the air.
Danny Meyers joined the station as Erica DeLong’s co-host last week, filling the spot Dumas occupied for 27 years before being let go by iHeartMedia’s WDCG in August.
Meyer was on the air for the Top 40 station on Wednesday, Feb. 11, the same day the station’s Facebook page posted a “team” photo of the morning crew, which also includes Ben Harris and Ashleyh Korgar.
The new logo for the program reads “The Showgram with Erica and Danny.”
Meyers comes to Raleigh from the Norfolk-Virginia Beach market, where he was host of “The Danny Show” morning show on Mix 93.5 and on MOViN 107.7, both iHeartMedia stations.
Before that, Meyers was a morning show host for 14 years at K92 WXLK-FM in Roanoke/Lynchburg.
Dumas’ departure from G105 last summer was sudden, and no reason was given by WDCG or by Dumas. In a video statement released a few days after he left the station, Dumas only said that “G105 let me go.”
The Triangle radio fixture, known for outrageous stunts and loyal fans, also vowed to be back.
“It’s not the last you’ll see of me, I’m telling you!” Dumas said.
