The latest video offering from Raleigh’s Holderness Family might cause you to get a little dust in your eyes.

The Christmas Jammies clan, headed by Kim and Penn Holderness, this week posted a musical look back at the past decade, highlighting the changes their family has been through (Penn left his job as anchor at WNCN CBS 17 to focus on video work full time) and how much their two kids, Lola and Penn Charles, have grown (Lola is four inches taller than her mom now!).

The song is a parody of P!nk’s “Raise Your Glass” and it’s surprisingly touching. Parents in particular may have a hard time watching without getting a little misty-eyed.

The Holdnerness family gained fame in 2013 when their “Christmas Jammies” video Christmas card went viral. It currently has 17 million views on YouTube and was even spoofed on “Saturday Night Live” the following Christmas.

In 2014, the pajama-clad foursome signed a deal for a reality show, “The Holderness Family,” produced by Carrboro-based Figure 8 Films and released on the UP Network.

In 2018, they hosted the “Great Christmas Video Countdown” on The CW.

The family has also continued to release lots of videos on their Facebook page and YouTube channel over the years, including a very funny spoof of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” last Christmas and a look this Christmas at how traditional holiday songs would be different if written today (“I won’t get you a Peloton for Christmas, that is something I should never do …” Penn sings to the tune of “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” in one part of the medley).
