3 more men charged with murder in Durham robbery. What warrants reveal.
Four young men are now facing charges in a fatal Durham shooting from earlier this month, court records show.
Robert Dockery, 20, Rahkeim Perry, 21, and Jeremy Rollins, 20, are charged with murder and two counts each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy in the March 2 death of 48-year-old Ottoniel Lopez-Diaz of Durham, according to their arrest warrants.
Dmario Nashaun Person, 21, was arrested last week on the same charges, The News & Observer previously reported. Perry was arrested Thursday, while Dockery and Rollins were arrested last Friday, records show.
Lopez-Diaz was fatally wounded just before 10 p.m. on East Umstead Street just south of the Durham Freeway. His son was hit over the head with a pistol during the incident and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The three men’s arrest warrants largely mirror Person’s, which point to a robbery gone wrong. The group is accused of stealing $298 from one man and an iPhone and a wallet containing $800 from another after theatening them with guns, warrants show.
Though Lopez-Diaz isn’t named as a robbery victim on Person’s arrest warrant, the robbery and murder charges are all on the same warrant, indicating they are related.
All of the men were being held in the Durham County jail without bail as of Friday morning, according to court records.
