Lottery player bought ticket every week for years — and finally hit big. ‘Speechless’
A Michigan man was left speechless after he won a huge lottery prize.
The 71-year-old man bought a $1 KENO! lottery ticket in Southfield, according to the Michigan Lottery.
The man, who has been playing KENO! For years, was left stunned when he matched all 10 of his numbers.
“I always say: ‘You can’t win if you don’t play,’” he told lottery officials. “I’ve been playing KENO! for years and buy one ticket each week with seven draws.
The matching numbers led him to win the game’s top prize of $250,000.
“When I checked the winning numbers on Feb. 11 and saw all of mine listed, I was speechless. I still am letting this big win sink in, it’s incredible,” he said.
The man said he plans to pay bills and buy a new home.
Southfield is about a 15-mile drive northwest from Detroit.
