A tourist went to Las Vegas with his friends to celebrate a birthday and ended up winning a big jackpot prize.

The Iowa man sat at a Face Up Pai Gow poker table Aug. 30 at The Linq Hotel, Caesars Entertainment said in a news release.

He played the game for about an hour, then ended up with a seven-card straight flush, winning $937,040.

His winning cards were a 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, jack and a joker acting as an 8, all in diamonds, according to the gambling company.

A straight flush is one of the rarest hands in the game, after a royal flush, according to Upswing Poker.

To get a straight flush, a player needs to get five cards in consecutive order.

The Linq Hotel is central on the Las Vegas Strip.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
