What would be your top priority if elected?

Adequately funding our public education system and providing necessary improvements.

By percentage, what raises should state employees, school staff and teachers receive in the next state budget?

Salary increases for state employees and teachers et al; all would be subject to availability. I’d like to see at minimum a salary increase of around 7% and would consider greater increases for hard-to-fill positions in various agencies and greater increases for our public school system personnel.

What legislation would you support to improve Triangle transportation, housing or infrastructure? Please be specific.

Light rail, affordable housing, and improvements to current roads and bridges.

Do you think the legislature should fund about $500 million for private school vouchers through the Opportunity Scholarship program? Why or why not?

No. Funds should be used in the public school system.

Is there an issue on which you disagree with your party? What is your position on that issue?

Housing bill. We must improve housing for everyone and make it more affordable for everyone.
