What snacks are you having for the Super Bowl? This one is most popular in NC and US

If you’re still deciding what snacks to take to a Super Bowl party in North Carolina, a new report may be helpful.

Bid on Equipment used data from Google to find the most popular Super Bowl food in each state and in the country based on “search volume trends.”

In North Carolina, seven layer dip is the biggest crowd pleaser, the report found.

The Tar Heel state isn’t alone in its preferred choice of Super Bowl snacks, according to the report. Seven layer dip is the most popular food nationwide and in six other states.

South Carolina, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Texas are all fans of the classic appetizer, too.

Overall, Americans seem to love eating dips during football’s biggest night, the report found. Various kinds of dip were the most popular snacks in 20 states.

Next to seven layer dip, chicken buffalo dip was the most popular in the country. Another honorable mention is cocktail weenies, which is the most popular food in 11 states, the report found.

Bid on Equipment looked at search trends for 130 Super Bowl foods between January and February 2019 to find which were the most popular, the report says. Prior to that, 1,224 Americans were surveyed.

The report also analyzed how much people spend on the Super Bowl and where they watch it.

Americans spend an average of $69 on food for the Super Bowl, the report found. Those who host Super Bowl parties spend an average of $174.

Forty-three percent of Americans watch the game at home, while 36 percent go to a party and 15 percent host a party, the report says. Only 7 percent watch it at a bar or restaurant.

Of those watching, 25 percent are only in it for the commercials, the report says. Another 39 percent are fed up with a long halftime and think it should be shorter.

Additionally, some have qualms with what day the game is on.

The report found 43 percent of Americans want it moved to Saturday night.
