New restaurants at North Hills

Barking Dog is the latest restaurant to open at North Hills. Sixty Vines, which offers a wide selection of wines on tap and a food menu inspired by wine-producing regions, opened late last year.

Several more dining concepts are expected to open this year.

  • The long-awaited new location of Standard Beer + Food, an institution in downtown Raleigh, has not yet opened, but is under construction along St. Albans Drive. It will feature 5,600 square feet of indoor space and a 15,000-square-foot patio.
  • Local favorite Benchwarmers Bagels is moving into a stand-alone building in the North Hills Innovation District. It will be an expanded version of the original Transfer Co. Food Hall location, serving thick-crust pizza and a beverage program. This will be Benchwarmers’ third location, joining the shops at the food hall and the newest spot, inside the Rockway building near Dorothea Dix Park.
  • Velvet Taco, a Texas-based company known for creative tacos, is expanding into the Triangle with a location at North Hills. It is moving into the former World of Beer space and will be the chain’s third North Carolina restaurant, joining two in Charlotte.
