A burger chain with an existing Triangle presence is opening a new location in the area — but this one is different from every other in the country.

BurgerFi has three restaurants in North Carolina, all in the Triangle: at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, in Raleigh’s Midtown area near Wegmans, and in Cary.

The fourth restaurant, which will celebrate its grand opening soon, will be in northern Wake County, in the Wakefield Commons shopping center near Capital Boulevard and Falls of Neuse Road.

Set to open Thursday, Jan. 15, the new BurgerFi is the third location under franchise owner Andy Rooney.

It’s the company’s first with a drive-thru, and among the first to serve breakfast, according to a news release.

Here’s what to know about the new BurgerFi.

BurgerFi opening in Wakefield Commons

Founded in Florida in 2011, BurgerFi now has locations across 13 states, including North Carolina.

It serves a variety of specialty burgers, including the CEO Burger, made with Wagyu meat, tomato bacon jam, truffle aioli and Swiss cheese (priced at $13 on the online menu). Another option, the Rodeo Burger, comes with charred jalapeños, fried onions, pepper jack cheese and barbecue sauce ($11).

BurgerFi sides, menu

In addition to burgers, BurgerFi offers veggie burgers made with a patty of quinoa and vegetables ($9), grilled and fried chicken sliders ($8), falafel sliders ($8) and chicken tenders (starting at $9).

Fries and onion rings are available on the side ($5-$6). And for dessert, BurgerFi serves vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cookies and cream, and s’mores shakes ($6-$7).

Breakfast options include an egg sandwich, breakfast sandwich, breakfast burger, avocado toast and French toast sticks.

New BurgerFi location

The Wakefield Commons BurgerFi opened in December, but at the all-day Jan. 15 grand opening, customers can try to win giveaways and order the BurgerFi Signature Cheeseburger for $5.

Located at 10831 Wakefield Commons Drive, the restaurant will be open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Jan. 15. Regular hours are 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday and 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.

Wakefield Commons is home to several other restaurants including Bruegger’s Bagels, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Starbucks and The Pickled Onion Restaurant & Bar.
