Multiple new restaurants are expected to come online in the Triangle in just a few months.

  • Chef Michael Lee of M Restaurants is launching a new concept, the Korean restaurant M Hansik. Expected to open in May in the former Plum at Durham’s Wye Junction (501 Washington St.), M Hansik will offer a fine dining menu of modern takes on dishes from Lee’s home country.
  • Shinmai Moku, a Japanese izakaya centered on grilled skewers with a full bar, plans to open this summer at Quail Corners in Raleigh. The team behind the forthcoming restaurant operates two other concepts in Cary, Shinmai Shokudo and Shinmai Kumo.
  • Eastcut Sandwich Bar is expanding to Cary’s Waverly Place shopping center in late summer or fall, one of the owners told The News & Observer. This will be the chain’s third location, joining the original shop in Durham and a second at Raleigh Iron Works.
