As people feel the pinch of inflated prices, shoppers are expected to consider major cutbacks on buying holiday items in excess, splurging on expensive gifts and taking trips that require extra money on hotels or gas. With the Thanksgiving rush underway, it can be easy to forget that important ingredient.

Whether you have inadvertently used all your salt or forgot to buy the canned pumpkin for your pie, there will be plenty of grocery stores open in the Triangle on Thanksgiving Day in the event of a day-of shopping trip.

Here’s where you can get last-minute groceries on Thanksgiving in Raleigh, Durham and around the Triangle. Just note that most places close in the afternoon to allow employees time to enjoy the holiday, before many places reopen early on Black Friday.

Food Lion

Thanksgiving Day: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Black Friday: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Fresh Market

Thanksgiving Day: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Black Friday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Harris Teeter

Thanksgiving Day: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Black Friday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Lowes Foods

Thanksgiving Day: Open until 4 p.m.

Black Friday: Check local store hours.

Wegmans

Thanksgiving Day: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Black Friday: 6 a.m. to 12 midnight

Whole Foods

Thanksgiving Day: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Black Friday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
