“Price Point” is a new N&O column aimed at offering a snapshot of the local real estate market. Each week, we'll tell you about three houses on the market that are roughly the same price but located in different parts of the Triangle. It will also highlight how prices — and what you get for the money — can vary greatly across the region.

This week’s Price Point is swinging to the other side of the pendulum.

After showing you some properties that sold for the bargain-basement price of $140K in the Triangle last week — nothing that was really in move-in condition — we’re now upping the ante.

Today, we looked at homes that sold recently for around $645,000, and found choices in Cary, Garner and Raleigh.

The house is in the Wellsley subdivision of Cary. It’s about 12-minute drive west from the center of town, and about a 27-minute drive from Raleigh.

Built in 1994, the house is on a cul-de-sac with a private fenced backyard. Interior features include an updated kitchen, hardwood floors, remodeled master bath and an unfinished walk-up attic. Amenities include neighborhood pool and tennis courts.
