An updated list of Triangle restaurant & business closings because of snowy weather

Triangle businesses and local government services are closing or delaying openings on Thursday because of winter weather that hit the Triangle

With snow accumulations of several inches and treacherous roads across the region, many government offices and businesses will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 20 and have late openings on Friday, Feb. 21.

Local government offices and services delays/closures

  • Apex: Town offices, parks and greenways are scheduled to reopen at 11 a.m. Feb. 21 (opening for parks and greenways depends on conditions in the morning). GFL will collect Wednesday, Thursday and Friday routes on Saturday, Feb. 22.
  • Cary government offices will reopen on regular schedule. Thursday’s curbside collection will be Feb. 21.
  • Chapel Hill: Town facilities are scheduled to open at noon Feb. 21. Yard-trimming collection for Feb. 21 is canceled.
  • Chatham County: Government offices will open at 10 a.m. Feb. 21.
  • Durham: City facilities and City Hall will open at 11 a.m. Feb. 21. The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center will be closed Feb. 21, and curbside collections are canceled.
  • Durham County: The government office will open at 11 a.m. Feb. 21. Libraries will open at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 21. There will be no recycling collection for residents of unincorporated Durham County on Feb. 21. Thursday’s recycling will be picked up Saturday, Feb. 22.
  • Franklin County: Government offices (including Solid Waste convenience centers and library branches) will open at 10 a.m. Feb. 21.
  • Garner: Town offices and facilities are expected to open at noon Feb. 21. The Garner Senior Center is closed Feb. 21, and parks will remain closed until further notice. All-Star Waste plans to service Thursday and Friday routes on Feb. 21.
  • Holly Springs: Town offices and facilities will open at 9 a.m. Feb. 21. Garbage and recycling collection for Wednesday-Friday customers will be Saturday, Feb. 22.
  • Morrisville: Town facilities will be closed Feb. 20. The Morrisville Smart Shuttle will not run Feb. 20 and is expected to run 12-6 p.m. Feb. 21. There will be no GFL waste pickup Feb. 20-21; GFL will work to fulfill Wednesday and Thursday’s pickup schedule on Saturday, Feb. 22.
  • Orange County Government will reopen at noon Feb. 21.

  • Pittsboro offices and facilities will be closed Feb. 20.
  • Raleigh: In-person operations for Raleigh Water, Finance, Planning and Development are operational until 5 p.m. Feb. 20 and will reopen at 10 a.m. Feb. 21. Solid Waste Services customers should leave their cans out until they are collected. Parks facilities are closed until noon Feb. 21. The Yard Waste Center opens at 10 a.m. Feb. 21.
  • Sanford: The city’s administrative offices will be closed Feb. 20. GFL will not collect Feb. 20. All residents are encouraged to leave their carts out, and crews will work over the weekend to service all households.
  • Wake County facilities, including parks, libraries and solid waste facilities, are expected to reopen Friday, Feb. 21, at noon.
  • Wake Forest: Wake Forest Town Hall will open Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. Joyner Park and Flaherty Park community centers and Alston-Massenburg Center will be open 12-8 p.m. Feb. 21 and resume normal hours of operation Feb. 22. The Northern Wake Senior Center and Meals on Wheels will be closed Feb. 21.

Triangle transportation delays/closures

  • Chapel Hill Transit service is limited between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Feb. 20 and is scheduled to begin service Feb. 21 as normal.
  • GoDurham fixed routes and Access are canceled Feb. 20.
  • GoRaleigh and GoRaleigh Access will not operate Feb. 20. Service will begin at 8 a.m. Feb. 21.
  • GoTriangle will not operate Feb. 20. If road conditions allow, GoTriangle expects to begin service at noon Friday, Feb. 21, and operate until 6 p.m.
  • Go Wake Forest will resume service Feb. 21 at 10 a.m.
  • GoCary will operate fixed route and Tier 1 Door-to-Door service from noon-6 p.m. The Downtown Loop will not operate.

Triangle business delays/closures

  • Barnes & Noble at Village District is open until 5 p.m. Feb. 20.
  • Benchwarmers Bagels opens at 9 a.m. Feb. 20.
  • Boxyard RTP common areas are closed Feb. 20. Individual vendor hours may vary.
  • Chick-fil-A at Raleigh’s Village District and at 3770 Lake Boone Trail are closed Feb. 20.
  • Crabtree Valley Mall will be open 12-4 p.m. Feb. 20. Restaurant and department store hours may vary.
  • Fullsteam at Boxyard RTP is closed Feb. 20.
  • Lawrence Barbecue at RTP is closed Feb. 20.
  • Little Rey at Raleigh Iron Works expects to reopen Feb. 21.
  • Logan’s Garden Shop is closed Feb. 20.
  • Longleaf Swine in Raleigh is closed Feb. 20.
  • Orange County ABC stores will open at 11 a.m. Feb. 20. Check the updated closing time at orangeabc.com.

  • Raleigh’s Sola Coffee is closed Feb. 20.
  • The Streets at Southpoint mall in Durham will open at noon Feb. 20 and close at 5 p.m.
  • Transfer Co. Food Hall will open at noon Feb. 20.
  • Triangle Rock Club locations will reopen at noon Feb. 20.
  • Triangle Town Center will close at 5 p.m. Feb. 20.
  • Wake County ABC stores will be open 12-5 p.m. Feb. 20.
  • Weaver Street Market expects to open at 10 a.m. Feb. 20, depending on staffing and weather conditions.
  • All YMCA facilities in the Triangle will be closed Feb. 20.
