Planned Parenthood South Atlantic filed a lawsuit in federal court Friday that challenges whether North Carolina’s Senate Bill 20 is constitutional.
The bill, passed by the General Assembly about 48 hours after it was introduced, bans abortion in the state at 12 weeks of pregnancy in nearly all circumstances. It is scheduled to take effect July 1.
