A popular retailer offering cosmetics and other beauty supplies is expanding in Raleigh.

Sephora is expected to open a new location at North Hills, the busy live-work-play destination just north of the Beltline in Raleigh.

Kane Realty, which owns the development, wants to combine two existing tenant suites to make way for the future retailer, according to the City of Raleigh’s development portal. No permits have been issued yet.

The two units in question are suites 100 and 103, at 4120 Main at North Hills St. in the Main District, where Target and the Regal movie theater are.

Suite 100 formerly housed Marta’s, which has since moved across the street to the Lassiter District, near Quail Ridge Books. The other unit, 103, was occupied by Copper Penny, a clothing and accessories retailer that is now located at Raleigh’s Village District (formerly known as Cameron Village).

Triangle Business Journal was first to report the news.

The News & Observer reached out to North Hills for more information. A representative for Sephora declined to comment.

Sephora has multiple existing locations across the Triangle, including at major shopping centers including Crabtree Valley Mall and Village District in Raleigh, Fenton in Cary and The Streets at Southpoint in Durham. The cosmetics retailer also has stores inside Kohl’s in Cary, Durham, Garner and Raleigh.

Other beauty stores at North Hills

Sephora will be the latest retailer focused on cosmetics and beauty products to open at the shopping center. However, the store previously had a location inside North Hills’ old JCPenney, which was demolished for redevelopment.

This year, the luxury fashion brand Chanel opened a stand-alone fragrance and beauty boutique in the Main District. The store stocks makeup, perfume, skincare products and eyewear.

The Main District also has a Bluemercury store, which sells skincare, makeup, hair and bath products, and fragrances.

There’s also an Ulta Beauty store inside Target at North Hills.

Several new restaurants and retail spaces are expected to open at North Hills:

Kane Realty has also broken ground on a new, 20-story luxury apartment tower. The Strand will be at 4006 Market at North Hills St., adjacent to the Advance Auto Parts tower.
