  • Two stores are returning to Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh.
  • Toys ‘R’ Us is “coming soon," and Idolize Brows and Beauty will re-open this summer.
  • The openings join other recent changes at the popular shopping center.

Two stores are opening at a popular Raleigh mall — and shoppers already may be familiar with them.

Toys ‘R’ Us and Idolize Brows and Beauty are both returning to Crabtree Valley Mall.

The stores are planned for the first level, beneath the food court. While the shopping center didn’t list an opening date for the new Toys ‘R’ Us store, Idolize said it expects to open its business this summer.

Representatives for the mall and the two stores didn’t immediately share additional information with The News & Observer on Wednesday, June 10. Here’s what we know about the businesses and their plans to re-open.

Toys ‘R’ Us opening

Toys ‘R’ Us is re-locating within Crabtree, according to a sign at the mall and an online map. As of Wednesday, June 10, the shopping center on its website said the new toy store was “coming soon.”

The update comes after Toys ‘R’ Us ran a temporary location at the mall during the 2025 holiday season. That space is set to become the clothing store Urban Planet by Charlotte Russe.

The toy store has been making a comeback after filing for bankruptcy in 2017 and shutting down all of its North Carolina stores the following year, The N&O previously reported. These days, Toys ‘R’ Us fans can also find merchandise at the Macy’s department store at Crabtree.

Idolize Brows and Beauty opening

Also making its return to Crabtree is Idolize. The business focuses on facials, eyelash extensions, eyebrow treatments and other cosmetic services.

Idolize is expected to re-open Wednesday, July 1. Here are the business hours listed on its website:

  • Mondays through Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Fridays through Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sundays: noon to 5 p.m.

We can’t wait to bring our signature brows, beauty services, and experience back to this area,” Idolize wrote on Instagram in April. “Stay tuned for updates, sneak peeks, and grand opening details.”

The business is coming back after leaving the mall in 2024. At the time of the closure, the store said it had operated for 14 years and encouraged customers to visit its other Raleigh location on Falls of Neuse Road.

Other changes at Crabtree

The stores add to recent changes at Crabtree, located at 4325 Glenwood Ave. The new entertainment center Level99 is expected to welcome gamers in 2027.

The mall also lost clothing store Premium Stitches, and the home store Furniture World was set to close as of late May, The N&O previously reported.
